Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliable weather and the best access to the Trinity River for swimming, boating, and warm-water wading — daytime highs typically reach the 80s F (mid-20s to low-30s C) with cool nights in the 50s–60s F (10–18 C). River recreation and warm evenings around a campfire are at their peak, and the campground's eight primitive sites still feel uncrowded on weekdays (weekends fill faster). Note: the campground is currently closed for the season due to maintenance projects Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
