- We will use your contact information solely for the purpose of sending you the availability notifications you have requested.
- We commit to not sharing your phone number or email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
- You can manage your notification preferences or opt out at any time by adjusting your user settings or following the opt-out instructions in the message.
2.4 SMS/Text Message Terms
By providing your phone number and opting into SMS notifications, you expressly consent to receive automated text messages from Outdoorithm regarding campsite availability alerts. Please review the following important information:
- Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your alert settings. You may receive multiple messages per day when campsites matching your criteria become available. Typically, users receive 0-10 messages per week depending on their alert configuration.
- Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your text messaging plan.
- How to Opt Out: You can stop receiving SMS notifications at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message you receive from us
- Disabling SMS notifications in your account settings at outdoorithm.com/dashboard/notifications

- Help: For help with SMS notifications, reply HELP to any message or contact info@outdoorithm.com.
- Carriers Supported: SMS notifications are supported on major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others. Carrier support may vary.
- Not Required for Service: Consent to receive SMS notifications is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from Outdoorithm. Our core service is free and accessible without SMS notifications.
Privacy: We will not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your phone number is used solely for delivering campsite availability alerts that you have requested.
2.5 Google Sign-In Data
When you choose to sign in or register using Google Sign-In (OAuth), we receive and store the following information from your Google account:
- Email address: Used as your account identifier and for account-related communications
- Name: Used to personalize your experience on our platform
- Profile picture: Displayed on your account profile (optional)
How we use Google user data: The information received from Google is used solely for authentication and account creation purposes. We do not use Google user data for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose unrelated to providing our camping and outdoor services.
Data retention: Google user data is retained for as long as your Outdoorithm account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated Google user data will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
Data deletion: You can delete your Google user data at any time by:
- Self-service deletion: Delete your account directly from your Account Profile settings (instant)
- Email request: Send a deletion request to info@outdoorithm.com
- Revoke access: Remove Outdoorithm's access through your Google Account permissions
Upon receiving a deletion request or account deletion, we will remove all Google user data from our active databases within 30 days. Backup copies may be retained for up to 90 days before being permanently purged.
3. Use of Data
Outdoorithm uses the collected data for various purposes:
- To provide and maintain our Service
- To notify you about changes to our Service
- To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so
- To provide customer support
- To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service
- To monitor the usage of our Service

- Google Sign-In data: Retained for as long as your account is active; deleted within 30 days of account deletion or revocation of access
- Usage data and analytics: Retained for up to 26 months for service improvement purposes
- Campsite alert preferences: Deleted immediately when you disable alerts or delete your account
- Communication records: Retained for up to 3 years for customer support and legal compliance
5.2 Your Deletion Rights
You have the right to delete your personal data at any time. To exercise this right:
- Self-service deletion (Recommended): Delete your account instantly from your Account Profile settings. This permanently removes all your data immediately.
- Email request: Send a deletion request to info@outdoorithm.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your account. We will process email requests within 30 days.
- Revoke third-party access: For data shared via Google Sign-In, you can also revoke Outdoorithm's access through your Google Account permissions
5.3 What Happens After Deletion
When you delete your account:
- Self-service deletion: Your personal data, profile, alerts, favorites, trips, and uploaded photos are removed from our active databases immediately
- Email requests: Data is removed within 30 days of receiving the request
- Storage cleanup: Profile photos and uploaded images are deleted from our storage systems
- Backup copies are purged within 90 days of account deletion
- Order history: If you made purchases through our marketplace, your name and address are anonymized (replaced with "[DELETED]") but order totals and dates are retained for tax compliance purposes
- Subscription records: Payment records are anonymized but retained for Stripe reconciliation
- Some aggregated analytics data may be retained but cannot be linked back to you
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information. Cookies are files with small amounts of data that are stored on your device.
