Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of mild weather, low river flows, and excellent fishing — days are commonly in the 60s–80s°F with cool nights in the 40s–50s°F. Lower summer-runoff and calmer water make boating and shoreline fishing at their peak, while crowds thin out after Labor Day so group bookings feel more private. Fall also produces vivid canyon light and late-season foliage along the riparian corridor, making it ideal for photography and relaxed riverside campfires. Peak months: October, September, May, June Avoid: December, January, February
Overview states fall is the best season: calmer river, good fishing and pleasant temps.
