Clark Springs Campground, State Route 3, 17 miles north of Weaverville, California
Tent campers willing to carry gear to the walk-in sites will get brook sounds, shade, and real separation from neighbors for just $21/night. Pair that with a 4-mile lakeshore trail, Kokanee salmon fishing, and a sandy swim beach steps away.
Trailers over 25 feet won't fit the spurs, and RVers expecting hookups or a dump station will find neither. Dog waste on the beach is a recurring complaint, and jet ski noise on summer weekends undercuts the quiet.
