Safety and Information Disclaimer

Last updated September 24, 2026

Outdoorithm helps you find, compare, and watch campgrounds. The information we show you comes from public reservation systems, park agencies, camper reviews, weather and mapping providers, and our own analysis, some of it generated by AI. We work to keep it accurate, and it still goes stale, contains errors, and leaves things out.

What to verify before you go

  • Rules, fees, seasons, and closures. Confirm them with the park or operator. Fire restrictions, road conditions, and campground closures change without notice to us.
  • Availability. A site shown as available is a snapshot of what the operator's system reported when we checked. Only the operator's own site can tell you whether it can be booked right now.
  • Weather and conditions. Our forecasts and suitability ratings are a planning aid. Get official forecasts from the National Weather Service and fire information from the responsible agency.
  • Safety scores and summaries. Greenbook community safety scores, Report Card grades, review summaries, and Camp Sage answers are our interpretation of reviews and public data, produced with statistical and AI models. They are opinions and estimates, not statements of fact about any person or place, and not a guarantee of anyone's safety.

Your trip is your responsibility

Camping and outdoor activities carry inherent risks, including weather, terrain, wildlife, fire, water, and remoteness. You are responsible for your own preparation, judgment, fitness, and safety, and for the people you bring. In an emergency, call 911.
