Low-clearance cars will take damage on the access road, and that's not hyperbole from one reviewer. No potable water on-site, no hookups, active bear pressure requiring food storage discipline, and zero chance of grabbing a spot in advance on a holiday weekend.

Summer brings the most reliable access and comfortable conditions. Daytime highs run mid-70s to low-90s °F with cool nights in the mid-40s to mid-50s °F. The creekside location and shady sites make the heat manageable. Weekend crowds pick up around holidays, but mid-week stays are typically quiet. Late summer brings wildfire risk and potential campfire restrictions. Winter and early spring can deliver snow or rain, making the already-challenging road even more difficult.
Open through Oct 31; mixed maples and oaks suggest good fall color and pleasant weather.
Rush Creek Campground offers a rustic camping experience with amenities such as fire rings and picnic tables at all campsites. Restrooms are available, but potable water is not provided on-site. The parking areas are unpaved, and the campground has a quiet, natural setting by Rush Creek.
