No potable water on site is a real logistics problem if you're not packing in every drop. Cash or check only for fees, no reservations, and no cell coverage details add up to a trip that rewards prepared campers and punishes the unprepared.

Summer is the best time to visit, with daytime highs in the 80s to low 90s and cool nights in the 50s–60s. This is when the river is warmest for swimming and fishing for trout and late-season salmon or steelhead. July and August weekends see the most visitors, though the 10-site limit keeps things relatively quiet. Wildfire activity can affect access during peak summer. Spring brings high water from snowmelt. Winter can bring snow and cold temperatures.
Summer is described as the best time; river warmest for swimming and fishing in summer.
Potable water is not available at this site.
