The campground is closed for all of 2025, so nobody should be planning a trip here yet. When it does reopen, RVs and anyone counting on tap water won't have much luck, as facilities are vault toilet only and the 16-foot vehicle limit leaves most rigs out.

Summer is the reliable window here. At this elevation, expect days in the 60s to mid-70s and nights dropping into the 30s and 40s. The campground opens after snowmelt, usually when trails and river access are clear. Wildflowers show up in nearby meadows mid-summer. Afternoon thunderstorms roll through, so start hikes early and pack rain gear. Winter brings deep snow and frigid temperatures that make the campground inaccessible.
