Effie Beckstrom West Group Campground, Pine Valley, Utah
Tent campers who want real quiet and real shade in July and August. Site #8 sits closest to the river, #6 is the most secluded. Deer wander through at dawn, hiking trails start nearby, and daytime temps stay in the 60s-70s even when St. George is baking.
No cell service at all, and walk-up sites require hauling gear on foot (a wagon helps). If bugs ruin a trip for you, gnats are a real presence here and bug spray or a zapper is not optional.

<p>Located in beautiful Pine Valley, the group campground consists of 8 sites, 2 doubles and 6 singles. Each single site has a picnic table, fire ring, utility table and 12'x 12' tent pad. Each double site has two picnic tables, fire ring, two utility tables and 12' x 20' tent pad.</p><p>This area has a covered group picnic area, vault toilet, and water hydrants.</p>

Summer is the prime window here. Daytime highs range from mid-60s to low-80s°F, with nights dropping into the 40s and 50s°F. Trails are snow-free, and wildlife viewing peaks in early morning and evening when deer and songbirds are most active. The campground fills on weekends and holiday weeks but stays manageable due to its small size. Gnats can be a problem, so bring bug spray or a zapper.
