Fishing and floating/boating are at their peak, wildlife is active along the riverbanks, and all sites are accessible with minimal trail or road issues. The Bennett Peak Campground is in a scenic setting near the North Platte River, which makes it great for fishing and floating. The campground has 11 campsites equipped with picnic tables, fire rings/grills, sandy tent pads, and parking spaces. Notable facilities include a vault toilet, hand pump well, boat ramp, and day-use parking. Bank fishing is accessible to persons with disabilities. Horses are not allowed in the campground. This riparian area boasts cottonwoods, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, willows, juniper, and mountain mahogany. Wildlife such as bald eagles, bighorn sheep, pronghorns, wild turkeys, mule deer, mountain lions, grouse, and rattlesnakes are common in the area. According to user reviews, 'the pump here and its sister site, Corral, don't work at all,' requiring campers to bring their own water and travel 30-45 minutes to the nearest water source.
