<p><strong>Prairie Point Campground is located north of Silverthorne,</strong> near the upper end of Green Mountain Reservoir along its east side. The reservoir is located 15 miles north of Silverthorne along Hwy 9 and has views of the Williams Fork and Gore mountain ranges. In addition to boating, there are a variety of activities including camping, fishing, picnicking, jet skiing, water skiing, swimming and hiking. Best season: summer. Summer delivers the fullest access to Green Mountain Reservoir and the surrounding trails — expect daytime highs in the mid-60s to low-80s °F and crisp nights in the 30s–40s. Boating, swimming, shore and boat fishing, and day hikes are all at their peak, with long daylight hours and abundant wildflowers. Weekends in July–August draw the most visitors and the boat ramp can get busy, so reserve early (reservations open June 24, 2025) and be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms and strong sun at 8, Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January

Prairie Point Campground offers essential amenities for campers, such as vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. "There are 2 loops with vault toilets. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring with most having parking spaces in front of the walk-in site." Some parking spaces are long enough to accommodate small trailers. Firewood can be purchased at a different campground approximately 10 minutes away.
