Best season: summer. Summer offers the best window for reliable access, wildflower meadows, and warm (but still crisp) alpine days — expect daytime highs around 50–65°F and chilly nights dipping to 25–40°F. Trails to alpine lakes and ridgelines are generally snow-free by mid-July, making hiking, fishing, and biking at their peak while the cabin’s propane stove provides cozy nights. Crowds are moderate compared with lower-elevation parks, but plan for afternoon thunderstorms and bring layers and rain gear. Peak months: July, August, September, June
Aspen pockets and quiet trails make fall scenic and enjoyable, though temps drop and storms possible.
