No hookups, no showers, just a vault toilet, and reviews flag uneven sites plus maintenance gaps. Arriving after mid-October means water and restrooms are likely shut off entirely.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliable weather for camping, paddling, and angling along the Encampment River — expect daytime highs roughly 65–85°F and cool nights in the mid-30s to low-50s. Water recreation (floating/kayaking), trout and smallstream fishing, and longer daylight for hiking the riparian foot trails are all at their peak. Because the campground has only eight sites, expect moderate demand on summer weekends but generally fewer crowds than larger reservoir or park campgrounds. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
Summer is peak season (65–85°F) for river recreation and camping; best conditions noted.
The campground has 8 campsites, a vault toilet, day-use parking and a foot trail. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring or grill, a sandy tent pad, and a parking space. No pull-throughs are allowed and horses are not allowed in the campground.
