Dispersed (undeveloped) camping sites have no developed services or facilities; visitors camp outside of developed campgrounds and typically find a place they can drive to where no development other than a road exists. The Forest Service indicates there are no services such as potable water and no trash removal, and generally no facilities such as picnic tables or restrooms. A Food Storage Order (bear-aware) is in effect in many ranger districts (March 1 through December 1, may be extended); all food, attractants, and refuse must be acceptably stored or possessed (examples listed include certified bear canisters, secured vehicles/hard-sided trailers, or properly hung food 10 ft up and 4 ft from a pole).
