July and August bring Arizona monsoon thunderstorms and lightning in the afternoons, so plan activities for mornings. Winter blankets the area in snow and drops temperatures well below freezing, transforming the pond into a frozen snow play area. Spring weather is unpredictable at this elevation, swinging from sunshine to snow showers in a single afternoon.
