Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather and the widest range of on-site activities — warm, dry days (typically 70–85°F) and cool nights (45–55°F) make riverside swimming, group cookouts, hiking, and mountain biking especially pleasant. July and August are the driest months with long daylight and excellent stargazing, though weekends are noticeably busier so reserve the group site in advance. Be aware that summer overlaps with wildfire season and occasional campfire restrictions, so check Forest‑ Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open May–Sept; summer offers warm, dry days, cool nights and tree shade—reviewers highly recommend summer.
