Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most stable weather and the full-service campground (open May 2–Sept 28), making it the best time to enjoy swimming holes, trout fishing, and dry, family-friendly hiking. Expect daytime highs typically in the mid-60s to mid-80s°F and cool nights in the mid-40s to mid-50s°F; river swimming is comfortable in July–August and trail conditions are at their best. This is also the busiest time (peak July–August), so reserving one of the 17 sites in advance is recommended. Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Campground 'flourishes' in spring with hiking and fishing; opens May 2.
Reservation tips, booking windows, and free cancellation alerts.
House Rock Campground offers 17 campsites in a double-loop layout. Amenities include accessible vault toilets, drinking water from hand pumps, picnic tables, campfire rings, and grills at each site. Firewood is not readily available; visitors are encouraged to bring their own or purchase from nearby vendors. Linn County Parks staff occasionally pass through to sell firewood. The campground road and parking spurs are composed of packed dirt and rock. The adjacent picnic area features four tables and two grills and provides access to the House Rock Trail.
