Best season: summer. Summer offers warm, sunny days and the best access to Blue River Reservoir for swimming, boating, and paddling — expect daytime highs commonly in the mid-70s to mid-80s°F (24–29°C) in the campground's sun pocket with cool mornings around 45–55°F (7–13°C). Water temperatures are most pleasant in late July–August, making boating, floating dock time, and family swims ideal; fishing and kayak trips are at their peak. Expect higher weekend crowds and limited first-come sites after June 25, so reserve Peak months: July, August, September, June
