The elevation is 2,000 ft. The campground, located between McKenzie River and State Rt. 126, has two sections - Upper Level and Lower Level. Both enjoy ample shade from an assortment of trees including Douglas fir, maple and alder. The Upper Level parallels Rt. 126, has no water, all the campground's pull-through sites that can accommodate more than one RV, and easy-in and easy-out access making it good for transient or overnight campers. The Lower Level stretches along the McKenzie River with sites on the river's bank. This level has drinking water, a wheelchair-friendly vault, and dirt-and-gravel parking aprons that might be a problem to negotiate for some RVs. While the river can be heard throughout the campground, traffic noise is most noticeable in the Upper Level.
Open April 17 through October 18

Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of mild weather, spectacular color, and lower crowds — daytime highs typically range from about 50–70°F with crisp mornings in the 30s–40s. Bigleaf maples and alders turn gold and red in September and early October, making riverside campsites and nearby trails exceptionally scenic, while fishing and wildlife viewing are at their peak as animals prepare for winter. Traffic eases after Labor Day, so you’ll find quieter campsites and easier access to trailheads, but Peak months: September, October, August, May Avoid: December, January
Fall described as best for color, weather, and elbow room; maples turn and river views shine.
