No boat means no camp. There's also no potable water, no hookups, and only four sites total with no reservations, so arriving without a backup plan on a summer weekend is a gamble.

Summer delivers the easiest access and warmest conditions: daytime highs in the mid-60s to upper-70s°F, cool evenings in the 40s–50s°F. Long daylight hours suit paddling, fishing, and swimming. Water levels are reliable for reaching the island sites. While summer sees the most visitors, these camps stay quieter than roadside campgrounds, especially midweek. Winter transforms the area into snowshoe and cross-country ski terrain, though temperatures demand preparation. Spring brings snowmelt runoff and migrating birds. Autumn offers crisp air and color reflections on the water.
Summer gives easiest access, warm temps and long daylight for paddling, fishing and swimming.
The campsite offers basic amenities, including restrooms and fire rings, while potable water is not available, requiring campers to boil or filter lake water. The campground emphasizes Leave No Trace principles, encouraging campers to use the provided fire rings, tent pads, and latrines while packing out all their garbage. Free overnight parking is available at the public boat launch for accessing the campsite.
