Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliable weather (daytime highs generally 65–80°F, nighttime lows 45–60°F) and the longest daylight—perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, and late-evening stargazing on Triangle Lake. Water temperatures and calm conditions make lake activities and shoreline camping most enjoyable, while hiking and biking trails are fully accessible. Expect moderate crowds on summer weekends (the Ironjaw Semi-Primitive Area keeps visitation lower than developed parks), and be准备d: Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: November, December, January, February
Summer is the practical choice: warm lake for swimming, long daylight, and peak open season.

The campground consists of two primitive campsites, both located near Triangle Lake. Drinking water is not available, and campers are required to bring their own. A primitive toilet is provided at Site 1. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups available. Campers are expected to adhere to a pack-in, pack-out policy. The campsite allows opportunities for horse camping with designated tethering areas and restrictions on straw and manure disposal.
