RV campers defaulting to hookup sites 1-14 will find them narrow and shoulder-to-shoulder, and the south entrance construction adds another headache. Summer heat regularly cracks 100°F, and there's no shade or water to escape into.

Fall delivers the best camping conditions, with daytime temps in the mid-60s to mid-80s and cool nights in the 40s-50s. The softer autumn light brings out rich hues in the red sandstone, and trails stay dry and stable through October. Summer heat regularly pushes past 100°F, forcing hikers to the trails before dawn and back to shade by midday. Winter offers crisp, dry days with fewer crowds but cold nights that require warm layers. Spring shares fall's comfortable temperatures. Reserve early for popular October weekends.
Early spring is peak season alongside fall due to moderate temps and excellent trail conditions.
