<p>Adjacent to the <a href="http://www.dfw.state.or.us/resources/visitors/marion_forks_hatchery.asp">Marion Forks Fish Hatchery</a>, Marion Forks Campground is a great 15 site (one pull through) campground tucked away from Highway 22 and a quiet place to relax.</p><p>Enjoy a 1/4 mile leisurely stroll along Marion Creek on a paved loop path through the picnic area and fish hatchery and learn about spring Chinook salmon and the history of the area.</p><p>Nearby, on Forest Service Road 2255, you can find the little used trail (#3431) to Independence Rock for a short hike. If you drive further up to the end of Road 2255, you'll reach the trailhead to <a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/4292">Marion Lake (Trail #3436)</a> leading to the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness.</p>
The elevation is 2,500 ft. The campground has two sections separated by the Marion Forks Fish Hatchery. The first section is closest to State Rt. 22 and the hatchery and next to Marion Creek. The sites in this section are smaller, close together, and have no privacy. The second section is beyond the hatchery and features longer parking aprons, more spacious, and has good privacy. Maple, alder, and some conifers provide ample shade. Tours are available at the Fish Hatchery.

The parking aprons are gravel and dirt. Grey water disposal sites can be found throughout campground. Average parking apron size in the first section is 12' X 35' while the second section is 12' X 45'. Willamette National Forest 462
In Detroit, OR, at the intersection of State Rt. 22 and Forest Rt. 46 (look for sign for Breintenbush and Olallie Lk), take Rt. 22 east 16.2 miles to Marion Forks Camp sign. Turn left at sign and immediately left into campground’s first section. Or, continue passed the Fish Hatchery for the campground's second section.

Summer delivers the warmest, driest conditions from May through October, with daytime highs around 65-80°F and cool nights in the mid-40s to low 50s. This is peak season for accessing trailheads and the fish hatchery. Wildflowers bloom, and sites fill on weekends, so plan to reserve ahead or arrive early. Autumn brings color to the maples before the campground closes for winter. Snow blankets the area in the off-season.
May–Oct is peak season with warm, dry weather and trail access.
Marion Forks Campground offers a mix of basic amenities, making it a rustic but functional choice for campers. The campground has 15 sites, including one pull-through site, and is adjacent to the Marion Forks Fish Hatchery. Amenities include picnic tables at all sites, fire grills, and restrooms with vault toilets. However, potable water and firewood are not available on-site.
