About Eagle Forks Campground

Nestled where Little Eagle Creek converges with the pristine waters of Wild and Scenic Eagle Creek, Eagle Forks Campground offers an intimate escape into nature's embrace. This charming retreat features seven thoughtfully positioned tent and trailer sites, including one fully accessible site, all tucked beneath a canopy of towering trees. The gentle murmur of creek waters provides a natural soundtrack to your stay, while the nearby Eagle Forks Trailhead beckons adventurers to explore the surrounding wilderness. Despite its modest size, this gem of a campground delivers an authentic Pacific Northwest experience where tranquility meets adventure.
Eagle Forks Campground supports tent and trailer camping with a total of 7 sites, including one accessible site.
Natural Features and SceneryThe campground's crown jewel is its creekside setting, where crystal-clear waters dance over smooth river rocks beneath a protective canopy of old-growth forest. Dappled sunlight filters through the branches, creating an ever-changing tapestry of light and shadow across the forest floor. The convergence of Little Eagle Creek and the federally designated Wild and Scenic Eagle Creek creates a symphony of rushing water that soothes the soul. Moss-covered boulders and fallen logs create natural seating areas along the water's edge, perfect for quiet contemplation or watching for native trout darting through the pools.
Geological RegionSituated within the majestic Wallowa Whitman National Forest, Eagle Forks Campground rests in a landscape sculpted by ancient geological forces and flowing water. The surrounding terrain tells a story millions of years in the making, where volcanic activity and erosion have carved dramatic creek valleys through the forested mountains. This unique positioning at the confluence of two creeks has created a microclimate of lush vegetation and cool, shaded campsites that provide welcome relief during warm summer days. The forest ecosystem here represents some of the finest examples of Pacific Northwest riparian habitat, where water, stone, and forest merge in perfect harmony.
