Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of warm, reliably dry days and long daylight for boating and hiking — expect daytime highs roughly in the mid-60s to upper-70s °F (around 65–80°F) with cool nights. Water activities (kayaking, swimming, boat-in camping) are at their peak and the island’s remote sites feel most accessible; afternoon thunderstorms are possible, so plan trips around weather windows. Crowds are higher than in shoulder seasons but remain low compared with mainland campgrounds due to Peak months: July, August, June, September
Warm, dry summers with peak boating access; afternoon storms possible; maintenance still an issue.

Piety Island Campground offers minimal amenities as it is primarily a boat-in campground. Key features include picnic tables and fire rings at campsites. Vault toilets are available but have been closed due to COVID-19 restrictions in the past. As noted in user reviews, there is no potable water on the island, and maintenance appears to be a concern, with some users describing the vault toilets as unusable and the area being littered with trash.
