You want a spacious, wooded site near Mt. Hood trails and don't mind some road noise.
You need total quiet or can't handle basic vault toilets during busy periods.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Best season: fall. Early fall (late September at 3,700 ft) offers the best combination of crisp, stable weather and quieter trails — daytime highs usually run 50–65°F (10–18°C) with cool nights near freezing. Forest colors shift and larches and understory shrubs take on golden tones while streams run clear, making fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography especially rewarding. Crowds thin after the high-summer rush and fire danger typically drops, so you get more solitude on popular routes around Mt. Hood Peak months: September, August, July, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Late September cited as best conditions (cool days, fall colors). Note: campground closes Sept 21 seasonally.

The Still Creek Campground offers a variety of amenities suited for both tent and RV campers. Each site includes a picnic table, a fire ring with a grill, and access to potable water stations scattered throughout the campground. Accessible vault toilets are available, but no flush toilets or shower facilities are provided. Firewood can be purchased on-site, although some reviews noted that availability may be inconsistent. Parking surfaces vary among dirt, gravel, and paved areas. Privacy is enhanced by a dense understory of shrubs between sites, and the sound of Still Creek can be heard across the campground. However, highway noise from Route 26 is a common issue mentioned by campers. Trash receptacles are provided, although some reviews mentioned overflowing bins during their stay.
