Vehicles over 16 feet are prohibited, the roads in are rough enough to warrant AWD, there's no potable water on-site (nearest is 10 miles out), and holiday weekends bring jet skis, loud stereos, and crowds that erase any sense of quiet.

Summit Lake Campground is a small rustic campground on serene Summit Lake. Some of the sites are walk-in sites, but they all offer fishing, swimming in the shallow lake, and visiting nearby trails.

Opening date is dependent on snow conditions.

Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Summer is the best window for access and warmth. Daytime highs run mid-60s to mid-70s, sometimes reaching the low 80s, with cool nights dropping into the 30s and 40s. Trails and roads are usually snow-free by then, and the campground is fully operational. Weekdays are peaceful. Holiday weekends draw more visitors, along with noise from motorized watercraft. Winter brings heavy snow (3–12 inches in peak weeks) and closes most access. Spring and fall can be pleasant but unpredictable for road conditions.
Open late May–early Sept; summer offers best access, warm days and lake activities.
