<p>Located 25 minutes south of Paisley, Oregon, Jones Crossing is a rustic and popular forest camp located right on the free-flowing Chewaucan River. Some juniper and ponderosa pines dot the camp, offering shade. There are eight spacious campsites each campsite features a picnic table and fire grate, and there is one vault toilet. </p><p>There no potable water. Visitors need to pack plenty of water</p><p>For recreation, campers can fish for rainbow or brook trout in the Chewaucan River. You may see or hear woodpeckers and songbirds make their presence known in this peaceful camp. There is also access to the <a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/fremont-winema/recarea/?recid=70808">Fremont National Recreation Trail#160</a> at Chewaucan Crossing, which is en route to Jones Crossing. The Fremont National Recreation Trail offers hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking pursuits.</p>

The campground is open May 15 to October 15, when summer brings the most reliable conditions. Expect daytime highs in the 70s to mid-80s and cool nights dropping to 35–50°F, so pack layers for chilly evenings around the fire. Summer weekends see the most use, though crowds stay moderate compared to larger lakeside campgrounds. Snow and freezing temperatures close services from mid-October through mid-May.
