Go if

River swimmers and kayakers who can stay put once they're set up. The Chetco's granite boulders and sandy launch spots are the whole draw, and summer temps in the 65-85°F range make it genuinely good for days on the water.

Skip if

Anyone who needs to run errands mid-trip. Theft from unattended sites is a documented pattern here, and with no potable water on-site, you'll need to leave camp eventually. Solo campers especially should think twice.
