Go if

Tent campers and small RVs (a 25-ft Class C made it; trailers didn't) who want creek-side solitude near Missoula. Ranch Creek fishing is solid, sites are flat and well-separated, and the pit toilets are consistently clean.

Skip if

No potable water on-site right now, so you'll need to drive to Norton Campground to fill up. The access road is narrow and rough enough that trailers, motorhomes, and tow vehicles regularly get turned back.
