Summer offers the most reliable access, warm daytime temperatures (typically high 60s–upper 70s°F, around 77°F on sunny days) and long daylight for hiking, boating and trout fishing on Hebgen and Earthquake Lakes. The campground is fully open from mid-May through late September, so all amenities and trailheads are accessible and water activities (swimming, boating, fishing) are at their peak. Expect higher visitation on holiday weekends and near the Yellowstone gateway, but mornings and weekdays Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January

Cabin Creek Campground features several single-family sites, each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. The campground provides vault toilets and potable water for campers. Notably, shower facilities and RV dump stations are not available at this location. Firewood can be purchased for $10 per bundle from the camp host. Despite being close to a highway, the campground is praised for its cleanliness and exceptional maintenance.
