This RV friendly campground sits on a bench above the Madison River with vistas of the Madison Range. Riverview Campground lies on a sagebrush and gross flat overlooking the Madison River and the Madison mountain range. There are 24 camp units which are large enough for 30 foot trailer lengths and are each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. There are three vault toilets and water is available at this campground. Cellular reception is also available. The Madison River, a world famous trout fishery, is about 1/4 mile from the campground. Fishing and boating is available at nearby Wade, Cliff, Hebgen, and Henry's Lakes.

The elevation is 5,900 ft. The West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park is 38.3 miles east of campground. The campground is a large single loop on a bench above the Madison River. While only a few campsites have a view of the river, all have great views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Grass and sagebrush offer no shade but a constant breeze helps keep things comfortable. All campsites are on the outside of the loop and are well separated providing good privacy. However, in September 2012, the campsites were overgrown with weeds and brush. The inside of the loop is comprised of tall grass, wildflowers and sagebrush. Trout fishing in the Madison River is exceptional. This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques. A "Food Storage Order" is in place at this campground. This means all food must be properly stored in a bear-resistant container; suspended; stored in a closed, motor vehicle with a solid top; or, stored in a closed, hard-body RV. Not observing this Order may result in a substantial fee and prison.
Open late May through mid-September - weather dependent

Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather and the best access to boating and warm-water fishing on the Madison River, with daytime highs typically around 70–80°F and cool nights near 48–55°F. Long daylight and dry conditions from June through September make hiking, boating, float trips, and evening stargazing especially enjoyable, though weekends in July and August can be busy. Plan and reserve early, and watch for wildfire restrictions late in the season. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
June–Sept dry, long daylight; summer reviews particularly positive though mosquitoes noted.
