The elevation is 5,600 ft. NOTE: The North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park is 48 miles south of campground. The campground, situated in two loops, is located in a rustic setting among mature Douglas-fir and spruce trees near Pine Creek. In addition to grilles, a few sites have large stone fire rings - some with benches around the ring. The campground was originally constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during the 1930s. The campground is very scenic and should have good fall foliage. The one tent-only camp site is designated as a hike-in/bike-in site; no parking available for vehicles. Berries bushes abound Gallatin National Forest 214 in the campground. Privacy between campsites is excellent. Firewood is available for a fee. This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.
