Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, driest weather and full access to Greek Creek Campground (open May 16–Sept 27, reservations June 23–Sept 27), with daytime highs typically in the 70–85°F range and cool nights around 40–50°F. This is prime time for fishing the Gallatin River, boating/float trips once spring runoff subsides, long hikes under spruce and fir, and reliable wildlife viewing at dawn and dusk. Expect moderate to heavy crowds on weekends in July–August and possible smoke or local fire closures Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Open mid-May–Sept; summer offers warm weather, full access, rafting/fishing and scenic days.
