Summer delivers the best conditions for group camping. Daytime highs typically reach the 70s and 80s, with nights cooling into the 50s and 60s. Comfortable for evening programs and campfires. July brings peak wildflower displays across the prairie, painting the grasslands in purples, yellows, and whites. The camp closes in late October, so fall color viewing is limited to early autumn visits. Book early for summer weekends, when the group site fills quickly.
