Go if

Families who want a cabin with real amenities, showers, flush toilets, the stone cabin specifically gets praise, and short hikes to river overlooks. Fall weekends fill fast, so book through the Minnesota DNR system early.

Skip if

The swim hole is the main summer draw, but it closes without much warning and runs low in dry years. No hookups, no camp store, no potable water at sites, check every box before assuming it's there.
