Summer brings the park to life with swimmers and hikers taking full advantage of warm weather, while autumn transforms the hardwood forests into a painter's palette of reds and golds that draws leaf-peepers from across the region. Keep in mind that both the river and swimming hole are weather-dependent—during drier seasons, water levels may run lower than usual, though the natural beauty remains constant year-round.
Overview: 'Fall delivers the best combination'—comfortable temps and spectacular foliage.
