Go if

Walk-in fans who request site 2 (steps down to Coon Lake) or backpack site 2 will get the privacy this place is capable of. Summer is the sweet spot for swimming and the Chase Point esker trail, but book early, reservations open 120 days out and fill up.

Skip if

Potable water is unreliable at the Rustic Campground, multiple visitors found none on arrival. Bring your own or call ahead. Closely spaced sites in parts of the campground also frustrate anyone who came for quiet, and there are no hookups, no pets, and no dump station.
