Why let sunset signal the end of your adventure? At Meadowbrook Area Campground, the magic continues long after dark. Set up camp along Big Stone Lake's shoreline, where wooded tent sites offer peaceful privacy, wildlife wanders through at dawn and dusk, and a sandy beach and boat launch keep you connected to the water from sunrise to starlight.
Campground has distinct tent and RV sections; tent section is noted for larger, more private sites while the RV area is tighter. Some campsites are directly on the water and adjacent sites are sometimes used for group camping.
Weather and SeasonsSummer brings warm lake-front camping, with daytime highs in the 70s–80s°F and comfortable evenings for campfires. Swimming, boating, and shore fishing peak during these months. Shaded sites make hot afternoons pleasant. Expect higher crowds and busy reservations on summer weekends, so book early. Off-peak visits can be remarkably quiet. Some campers have had the entire campground to themselves.
Natural Features and SceneryMeadowbrook stretches along the sparkling waters of Big Stone Lake, with select campsites perched right at the water's edge. The campground divides naturally between secluded, tree-shaded tent areas perfect for those seeking solitude and a more open RV section for easy access. Wake to the sight of white-tailed deer browsing near your site, or watch pheasants and wild turkeys strut past while songbirds provide the soundtrack to your morning coffee. A small sandy beach invites afternoon swims, while the pier and boat launch mean your kayak or fishing boat is always just steps away.
Scenic ViewsSeveral campsites sit on or next to Big Stone Lake and provide direct water views; lakeside sites offer the best views but are more exposed to wind.
