Myre-Big Island State Park offers a group center located on the northern shoreline of Albert Lea Lake at the beginning of New York Point in the southwest part of the park. The group center accommodates a maximum of 50 people and is available seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through September. Visitors must bring their own tent or camper trailer for overnight camping, as the group center does not provide overnight cabin accommodations. Facilities include a dining hall with a commercial kitchen, separate bathroom and shower rooms for men and women, and eight electric pedestals for camper trailer hookups. The group center is reserved by calling the park directly at 507-668-7061, as it cannot be reserved through the Minnesota state park reservation system. Check-in for overnight use is at 11 a.m. with checkout at 10 a.m. Each group is responsible for cleaning the facility before departure.

The <A HREF="https://www.usbr.gov/projects/index.php?id=467">Helena Valley Unit</a> is in central Montana, adjoining the city of Helena, Montana, and 3.5 miles west of Canyon Ferry Dam on the Missouri River. The principal purposes of the unit are irrigation and municipal water for the city of Helena. Features of the development are a tunnel, dam and regulating reservoir, canal, pumping plant, and other facilities. Created by <A HREF="https://www.usbr.gov/projects/index.php?id=113">Helena Valley Dam</a> the reservoir, with 518 water surface acres, 477 land acres and 6 miles of shoreline, offers fair fishing for kokanee salmon. Picnic shelters available. Boating is non-motorized only.
