Summer delivers the warmest, most reliable weather for paddling and shore fishing, with daytime highs in the mid-70s to low-80s and nights in the 50s–60s. Long daylight makes early-morning and evening wildlife viewing especially productive. Expect more weekend visitors, particularly holiday weekends, when ORV, boat, and jet-ski activity can disrupt the quiet. Midweek stays keep the noise down. Fall brings color to the hardwoods and cooler, less crowded conditions, though water temperatures drop quickly.
