Tent campers who want a shoreline site and real paddling and fishing access on the Au Sable. Five sites sit directly on Sessions Lake. The quarter-mile carry-in keeps crowds down on weekdays, and cell coverage is strong if you need it.
RVs can't use this place, and tent campers who need showers or electric hookups will come up empty. Summer weekends bring noise from groups, and the vault toilets get mixed marks on cleanliness.

Summer brings the best conditions for water access. Daytime highs run mid-70s to mid-80s°F with cool nights in the 50s–60s. Long daylight and calm water make it ideal for paddling and fishing through the season. Sites fill quickly on summer weekends despite the quarter-mile walk. Off-season use drops sharply as boating and swimming drive most visits.
Best season for water activities; warm days, cool nights and long daylight ideal for paddling/fishing.
