Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliable weather for riverside recreation — expect daytime highs roughly 80–95°F and nighttime lows in the 50s — making boating, swimming, and float trips the main draw. The boat launch is fully usable and river conditions are typically calmer and safer for multi-day floats and day trips, while fishing (warm-water species and trout along shaded runs) is at its most consistent. Expect the campground to be busiest on weekends and holiday weeks, so plan weekdays or a Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
Description: 'Summer is the reason to come' with warm temps, calm river, and full launch usability.
Spring Bar Campground is a relatively simple yet appealing campground located next to a flat stretch of the Salmon River. It is equipped with 18 tent campsites, with a table and fire ring provided at all but two of the sites. The area is shaded by fruit-bearing trees, which contribute to its charm. However, amenities for trailers and RVs are limited, as no trailer hookups or RV dump stations are available. The nearby Allison Creek offers wheelchair-accessible picnic facilities.
