Families and fishing-focused campers who pack in their own water and a camp stove will get the most out of this place. Pull-through sites sit right on the river, the vault toilets are usually clean, and the nightly rate is hard to argue with.

No potable water onsite means you're hauling in everything to drink and cook with. Combined with fire pits that have no cooking grates, this frustrates campers expecting basic self-sufficient setup. The mixed camp host reports and ghost-reserved sites are worth knowing going in.

Summer delivers the most reliable conditions, with daytime highs of 70-85°F and nights dropping to 40-50°F. Long daylight hours and wildflower displays make this the best season for hiking and river activities like fishing and swimming. The campground stays relatively quiet except on busy summer weekends. Fire restrictions happen occasionally during dry spells. Winter access is possible but attracts only hardy campers willing to deal with snow.
Summer cited as most reliable with 70–85°F, wildflowers and peak season popularity.
