July and August are the best months, with warm days between 65 and 80°F and cool nights dropping to 35–50°F. The high elevation means summer comes late and snow closes access for much of the year, typically from late September through May. Morning and evening are prime times for trout fishing during summer hatches. Holiday weekends see more visitors, but weekdays remain quiet.
July–August best months; warm days and late summer access; busiest and most pleasant season.
