Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of crisp weather, dramatic aspen and willow color along the reservoir, and much lighter crowds — daytime highs are commonly in the 45–60°F range with nights often dipping below freezing. Fishing and wildlife viewing (elk bugling, migrating waterfowl) are at their peak as animals concentrate around lowering water and meadows, and the reservoir often has very good trout action. Trails and roads are generally still accessible through September, giving you boating,岸f Peak months: September, July, August, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Fall cited as best: cooler days, aspen/willow colors and thinner crowds.
