Beyond the current closure, this place has no cell signal, no showers, and no hiking trails on-site. July and August bugs are genuinely brutal. If any of those are dealbreakers, Granby-area campgrounds with more amenities are 16 miles down Route 125.

The elevation is 8,600 ft. The campground is composed of two separate sections on the east and west side of State Rt. 125. The first section (on the east side) loops through a heavy stand of Lodgepole pines. Camp sites 10, 11 and 12, located along Denver Creek, are on a dead-end spur with no turnaround. The second section (on the west side) stretches out along the banks of Willow Creek and although mature conifer trees provide some shade, this section is more open. Although both sections hug State Rt. 125, it is lightly traveled making traffic noise minimal. Willow Creek is a favorite location for the area's moose population. Firewood is available from the host for a fee.
Open May 24 through September 23
The second or west section has the only wheelchair friendly toilet.
Some parking aprons are dirt and some are gravel.
From Granby, CO, take US Rt. 40 west 1.9 miles to State Rt. 125. Turn right onto Rt. 125 and go 12.6 miles to campground sign. Turn right into first section of campground or continue on Rt. 125 for another 0.2 miles to the second section on the left.

Late June through August brings daytime temperatures between 55 and 75°F, with nights dropping into the 30s and 40s. This window offers the best access after snowmelt and catches peak wildflowers. Afternoon thunderstorms roll through regularly in summer but typically clear fast. Shoulder seasons risk snow and freezing temperatures at this elevation. Summer also means bugs. Multiple reviews call out insects as a real problem during July and August.
Best access after snowmelt; daytime temps 55–75°F and peak wildflowers in summer.
Denver Creek Campground offers a variety of amenities suitable for campers using tents, trailers, or RVs. Facilities include a tent pad, fire grate, picnic tables, restrooms, and potable water. However, many campsites lack shade, which may be a consideration in hotter weather. Firewood is available for purchase from the host, and trash service is provided. Vault toilets are available, with wheelchair-friendly options located in the west section.
