The elevation is 8,000 ft. The campground is composed of one loop that stretches out along the base of a mountain. Some of the camping sites are nicely terraced. Although most sites are open, heavy understory of tall grass and wild roses plus wide separation between camping sites provide ample privacy. The North Fork of the White River is across County Rt. 8 from the campground.
Open May 18 through September 30 NOTE: Potable water shut-off dependent on weather and first freeze.
Most threaded spigots are in the right hand loop.
The parking aprons are gravel and grass. The campground accommodates any size RV. An RV waste station with potable water is available for a fee at the City Park in Meeker, CO.
From Buford, CO, take County Rt. 8 (becomes dirt after 10 miles) east 11.8 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign into campground.

Best season: fall. Fall offers the signature draw of North Fork: golden aspen stands and crisp, clear weather — expect daytime highs in the low-to-mid 40s–60s°F (5–18°C) in September and early October with frosty nights often dropping into the 20s–30s°F (-5–4°C). Hiking, photography, and wildlife viewing (elk rut and increased activity) are at their peak, while crowds thin out after Labor Day compared with summer weekends. Weekdays during the color peak provide the best balance of solitude and spectacular scenery. Peak months: September, October, August, July Avoid: November, December, January, February
Fall is the signature season: aspen peak Sept–Oct, elk activity and scenic color draws many visitors.
