RVs over 20 feet will fight the boulder-lined loops and dead-end spurs. No hookups, no showers, vault toilets with occasional odor complaints, and $27/night feels steep to many reviewers for what's essentially a primitive setup.

<p>The campground lies at 8400-foot in elevation. Fishing in nearby Beaver Reservoir and Beaver Creek. Hiking on nearby trails. The facilities include 18 newly remodeled (2010) sites with tables and fireplaces, vault type toilets, centralized refuse bin and a developed drinking water system with hand pumps (in season) and ample turn around and parking space for trailers. 15 sites are dead end spurs and 3 sites are pull through spurs. Attractions in the area include fishing in Beaver Creek and Beaver Reservoir and Tewksberry Trail #842 is available for hiking, biking, ATV riding just to the west. The elevation is 8,400 ft. The campground stretches along Beaver Creek among mixed conifers. With little understory, privacy between sites is minimal. The nearby Beaver Creek Reservoir features a boat ramp and fishing for Brown, Brook and Rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon. Firewood is available for a fee. The parking aprons are gravel. A RV waste station is available at Rainbow Grocery at intersection of US Rt. 160 and State Rt. 149 in South Fork, CO.
In South Fork, CO, at intersection of State Rt. 149 and US Rt. 160, take Rt. 160 west 1.4 miles to Beaver Creek Rd. sign. Turn left at sign onto Beaver Creek Rd. and go 3.1 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign and go 0.1 miles to another campground sign. Turn left into campground.

Summer brings the most reliable access and best conditions at this elevation. Daytime highs reach the mid-60s to low-70s°F, while nights drop into the 30s and 40s°F. Memorial Day through Labor Day offers full services and peak access to trails, fishing, boating, and biking. Holiday weekends draw moderate crowds; midweek stays are quieter. Bring layers regardless of season. Snow closes higher-elevation sites in winter, though accessible areas remain open for those seeking solitude.

The Lower Beaver Creek Campground offers basic amenities and is a seasonal campground with facilities accessible mainly from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. During this peak season, it provides drinking water via hand pumps, vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Trash service is available only during this period. Outside the peak season, there is no trash service, and potable water is unavailable. The campground consists of 18 sites, 15 of which are dead-end spurs, and 3 are pull-through spurs. The parking spurs have a maximum length of 45 feet, but not all sites can accommodate vehicles of this size. Firewood is available for a fee, and there is a centralized refuse bin during operating months. There are no hookups for RVs, and the campground does not offer flush toilets, showers, or Wi-Fi.
