Summer offers the best combination of reliable access, the fullest display of alpine wildflowers, and the warmest daytime hiking and fishing weather — expect cool nights (20s–30s°F) and comfortable afternoons typically in the 50s–70s°F range from July through August. Trails, meadows, and stream fishing are at their peak, and the long daylight hours let you explore Bennett Peak and nearby ridgelines; be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms on summer afternoons. Off Cow Camp Cabin offers basic yet functional amenities tailored to a rustic and remote camping experience. The cabin includes a wood-burning cook stove, a fire ring, and table and chairs for basic comfort. Visitors should note that potable water is not provided; natural water sources are available but must be treated before use. Firewood is not provided but can be gathered near the cabin. The property includes an outhouse (vault toilet) and a barn with a fenced pasture for horses. As there is no electricity or cell phone service, the cabin provides an unplugged, back-to-nature experience.
