Best season: fall. Fall offers the quintessential Aspen Leaf Cabin experience — golden aspen groves, crisp mountain air, and long, clear views after summer haze. Expect daytime highs in the 40s–60s°F (4–16°C) in September and October with nights often near or below freezing, making for brilliant color contrasts and excellent photography. Hiking and wildlife viewing are at their peak as animals prepare for winter, and crowds are generally low to moderate (weekends busier; weekdays quiet), though backcountry hunters Peak months: September, October, July, August Avoid: December, January, February

Drinking water is supplied but the cabin does not have electricity. Guests should bring propane lanterns, matches, bedding, toilet paper, dish towels, warm clothing, paper towels and tools for gathering and cutting firewood. Click here for more cabin details.
